Extending God's love through practical support and compassionate care
The Welfare Ministry at LWC Church exists to demonstrate Christ's love by providing practical assistance and support to church members and the wider community during times of need. We believe in caring for the whole person—physically, emotionally, and spiritually.
Guided by Matthew 25:35-40, we strive to be the hands and feet of Jesus, meeting tangible needs while sharing the hope of the gospel. Our ministry serves as a bridge between those with resources to share and those facing challenging circumstances.
Providing food assistance through our food bank, emergency meal deliveries, and community feeding programs.
Assisting with temporary housing, rent assistance, and home repairs for vulnerable individuals and families.
Distributing clothing, household items, and essential supplies to those in need through our resource center.
Providing school supplies, scholarships, and tutoring services to support educational advancement.
Offering counseling, support groups, and visitation services for those facing difficult life circumstances.
Collaborating with local organizations to maximize our impact and reach more people in need.
On the last Saturday of each month, we distribute food packages to families in need. Each package contains staple items to supplement a family's nutritional needs.
Providing financial assistance to church members and community residents facing unexpected crises such as medical emergencies, job loss, or natural disasters.
Annual initiative providing school supplies, uniforms, and backpacks to children from low-income families to ensure they have the tools they need for academic success.
Regular visitation and practical support for elderly members of our church and community, including home maintenance, transportation to appointments, and companionship.
"When I lost my job and couldn't pay my rent, the Welfare Ministry stepped in and helped cover my expenses until I found new employment. Their support wasn't just financial—they prayed with me, encouraged me, and even helped with my job search. I don't know what I would have done without them."
— Sarah M., Church Member
"After my surgery, I couldn't cook or clean for myself. The Welfare Ministry organized a meal train and sent volunteers to help with household chores. Their kindness made my recovery so much easier, and I felt truly cared for by my church family."
— James T., Community Member

Your generous donations make our work possible. We accept financial contributions as well as donations of food, clothing, household items, and other essential supplies.
If you're in need of assistance, please fill out our assistance request form available at the church office or online. A ministry representative will contact you within 48 hours to discuss your needs and how we can help.
We always need non-perishable food items, toiletries, new or gently used clothing, school supplies, and financial donations. Our specific needs may change seasonally, so check our current needs list for the most up-to-date information.
Our core team meets on the first Monday of each month at 6:30 PM. Volunteers participate in various activities throughout the month based on their availability and the ministry's needs.
No, while we do serve our church family, our ministry extends to the broader community as well. Anyone in need is welcome to request assistance.
